Gradius (or Nemesis) serie starts a whole fleet of Konami sidescrolling shooters (Nemesis, Lifeforce, Parodius). All are very nicely done as they were all published in my favorite arcade decade 1985-1995 (these were also the years my bank loved me most).
One of the first games featuring powerups and option-upgrades (together with Lifeforce which plays much alike (well i cant get enough of these shooters). A classic. Even play- and enjoyable today.
